Glendon is recognized as an emerging strength in Cognitive Neuropsychology. Under the leadership of Professor Guy Proulx, the department recently has established a stream in this area, as well as a Centre for Cognitive Health. Beyond his teaching responsibilities at Glendon, Professor Proulx has been heavily involved in the establishment of French-language health services in Southern Ontario.
With a focus on neuropsychology and the effects of aging, and with the support of the Centre for Cognitive Health, Glendon has the potential to play a leading role in developing French-language health care facilities for Southern Ontario’s Francophone community. At the Centre, undergraduate and graduate students will be providing French-language services to the community under the supervision of Glendon’s experienced clinical neuropsychologists. Glendon will be acting in partnership with the Ontario French Language Health Planning Entities, and Réseau franco-Santé Sud and other francophone Health Service Providers and community based organizations, and with such organizations as l’association des médecins francophones, Société Santé en Français (SSF), the LHINs created by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and the RRASFO (Réseau de recherche appliquée pour la santé des francophones de l’Ontario) of which Glendon is a founding member.
